KHARKIV– Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov has said that in the near future the National Security and Defense Council will consider a bill on the reintegration of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, that are temporarily uncontrolled by the country’s authorities, for further consideration to the Verkhovna Rada.

“The bill is ready. Security experts and legal experts are now working out some of its details, and in the near future, you know, that the president has already returned from a very important overseas trip, we will have an NSDC meeting, and after approval of this law by the NSDC, it will be sent to the Verkhovna Rada by the president,” he told journalists in Kharkiv on Friday, answering the Kyiv-based Interfax-Ukraine agency’s question.

Turchynov said he expected the Rada to pass this legislation before the end of the current spring and summer session.

“I really hope that the lawmakers are determined not only to go on vacation but also to work and will be able to pass it during the current session. I do implore them,” Turchynov said.

The Verkhovna Rada’s last plenary meeting in the current session is scheduled for July 14.
