You're reading: Turchynov about sanctions: Russia, North Korea becoming more alike

The regimes in Russia and North Korea are becoming more and more alike, and the world is beginning to understand this, National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov has said, commenting on new American sanctions against Russia.

According to the NSDC’s website, Turchynov noted the special importance of sanctions against Russia, which were imposed by a law passed by the U.S. Congress and signed by U.S. President Donald Trump.

“…Russia is alongside North Korea in the bill. This proves that the world has begun to understand that the regimes ruling both countries are more and more alike – unpredictable and dangerous,” Turchynov noted. He also noted the importance of completely isolating leaders of Russia, which he said is a totalitarian state.

As earlier reported, Trump on August 2 signed into law a bill imposing sanctions on Russia, Iran and North Korea adopted by Congress.
