You're reading: Turchynov says Ukrainian military shouldn’t get salary less than what civil servants earn

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksandr Turchynov stands for an increase in the money supply of Ukrainian soldiers and believes that the structure of their pay service must comply with NATO standards.

“The salaries of the military can not be less than the corresponding salaries of civil servants working in cozy offices of the central executive bodies. The payment for military ranks can not be less than the surcharge for the rank of civil servant! […] The structure of the monetary security of the Ukrainian serviceman must comply with NATO standards, where at least 70-80 percent is the official salary and extra charge for the military rank. Now this figure complies 10-15 percent,” the press service of the National Security and Defense Council quoted Turchynov as saying on August 1.
