You're reading: TV Council annuls license of UBR Channel

The National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine on Jan. 12 annulled the license of UBR Channel for satellite broadcasting.
Previously the channel announced termination of broadcasting on Jan. 1, 2017.

According to the regulator, the company is obliged to return the license for broadcasting within ten days from the date the decision was made.

UBR Channel is part of Vesti Ukraine media holding, which is associated with fugitive ex-Minister of Income and Tax Oleksandr Klymenko.

According to information on its website, the owner of 99 percent of ES Production Group LLC at the end of 2015 was IG Media Ukraine LLC, which, in turn, was 100 percent owned by Media Holding Vesti Ukraine Ltd (Cyprus). The owner of 80 percent in the Cypriot company was resident of Avdiyivka Denys Mozgovy, while another 20 percent was controlled by Tetiana Oleksandrova from Donetsk through Nederman Limited.

ES Production Group in 2015 saw revenues rise by 62.7 percent, to Hr 29.36 million, while its net profit decreased by 4.4 times, to Hr 560,000.
