Two Ukrainian border guards were killed at about 5.00 p.m. on September 28, blowing up on an unidentified explosive device in the Stanytsia Luhanska border department sector in Luhansk region, the Ukrainian State Border Service has reported.

The report notes that border guards died on the spot.

“For the purpose of objectively studying all circumstances of this tragic event, the service will inform the Military Prosecutor’s Office, the National Police, as well as representatives of international missions working in Donbas war zone,” reads the report.

The State Border Service expressed condolences to the families of the deceased border guards.
