Russia-backed separatists have violated the ceasefire in eastern Ukraine 28 times over the past 24 hours, including six times with weapons banned by the Minsk agreements, wounding two Ukrainian soldiers, the press center for the headquarters of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) has said.

“In all, Russia-led forces violated the ceasefire 28 times, firing from heavy weapons six times. As a result of concerted actions by Joint Forces units, according to intelligence, one infantry fighting vehicle of the Russia-backed separatists and a GAZ-66 truck were destroyed, and five separatists were wounded,” the JFO HQ said in a report posted on its Facebook page on June 19 morning.

Active fighting continued in Luhansk region, where Russia-backed separatists resorted to provocative actions near Novotoshkivske and Verkhniotoretske.

In the Donetsk sector, two Ukrainian soldiers were wounded near Avdiyivka and Opytne when the Kremlin-backed separatists used small arms and grenade launchers.

In the Mariupol sector, separatists used mortars near Starohnativka, Chermalyk and Lebedynske, thus putting the lives of civilians in danger.

“The night of the current day passed without escalation – separatists violated the ceasefire four times without using heavy weapons. There are no losses among Ukrainian soldiers,” the report says.
