You're reading: Two soldiers wounded in 41 attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas over past day

Russia-backed separatists have fired 41 times on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donbas over the past 24 hours, including 11 times from heavy weapons, wounding two Ukrainian soldiers, the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) headquarters said on its Facebook page early on August 14.

“The attacks were carried out on the soldiers of Krymske, Novotoshkivske, Troitske, Novozvanivka, Novoluhanske, Pivdenne, Mayorsk, Zalizne, Pivnichne, Opytne, Avdiyivka, Novotroitske, Bohdanivka, Hnutove, Lebedynske, Pavlopil, Vodiane and Shyrokyne. At the same time, Russia-backed separatists fired from 122mm mortars on the defenders of Novotoshkivske, from 120mm mortars on our positions near Zalizne, Pivnichne and Bohdanivka, and from 82mm mortars on our positions near Novozvanivka, Troitske, Avdiyivka and Vodiane […] Two Joint Forces soldiers were injured in fighting,” reads the report.

Today Russia-led separatists opened fire twice on Ukrainian positions near the villages of Pavlopil and Shyrokyne.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, two separatists were killed and five injured.
