The Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine were attacked twice between midnight and 6:00 p.m. Kyiv time on March 13, two Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in action, the country’s Defense Ministry stated on its website.

“As a result of the attacks, two our defenders were wounded in action. Our defenders responded to enemy shelling with adequate fire. Enemy losses are being clarified. The situation in the JFO [Joint Forces Operation] area remains under Ukrainian military control,” the statement said.

Russia-led forces shelled the Ukrainian army positions near the town of Avdiyivka, Donetsk region, using heavy anti-tank grenade launchers and small arms. Positions near the town of Maryinka came under sniper fire.
