You're reading: Tymoshenko refuses to mediate Zelenskiy-Poroshenko debate

Batkivschyna party leader Yulia Tymoshenko has refused to mediate debates between the presidential candidates Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Petro Poroshenko before the second round of the presidential election, and therefore the staffs will continue looking for another independent moderator, Dmytro Razumkov, an adviser to Zelenskiy’s campaign staff, said on April 5.

“She would have been an independent arbiter, because she criticized both candidates. If she had agreed, 60 percent of the voters would have been represented at the stadium. That is, more than half of the country’s people would have been represented. But what’s happened is happened,” Razumkov said on Radio NV. The arbiter’s role will be offered to someone else, Razumkov said. “This should be an independent referee equidistant from the two teams,” he said.
