Immediately after the election, the new president will create a sufficiently powerful international fund for the revival and development of Donbas to restore everything that was destroyed and improve the lives of IDPs, leader of the All-Ukrainian Association Batkivschyna, presidential candidate of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko has said.

“I don’t see a more urgent task now than to ensure peace, revival and development,” Tymoshenko said during a meeting with the families of IDPs in Sviatohorsk, Donetsk region.

According to her, the signatory countries of the Budapest Memorandum, which gave Ukraine guarantees of inviolability of borders in exchange for the refusal of the world’s third largest nuclear potential in 1994, are ready to join the creation of the Donbas Development Fund. “Agreements already exist. Countries understand that Donbas needs help. I know the sentiments of all the leaders of the guarantor countries. After the victory, we won’t waste a minute. We are all ready. We will immediately initiate this process,” the politician assured.

The leader of Batkivschyna also noted that after the elections, her first priority as the president in returning peace to Ukraine would be “to make the presidents of the signatories of the Budapest Memorandum agree at the negotiating table.” “Every day we will be resolving the issue of returning peace. Donbas will return to Ukraine quickly enough, and we can begin to live a normal life. Crimea is a more complicated issue,” Tymoshenko said.
