Ukraine and Armenia have reached an agreement on liberalization of international haulage by road and gradual abolishment of international haulage permits. The fifth freedom is proposed for Ukrainian airlines for boosting flights from Yerevan.

The press service of Ukraine’s Infrastructure Ministry reported that the agreement was reached at a meeting of Deputy Minister Viktor Dovhan with Transport Minister of Armenia Vagan Martirosyan during his visit to Yerevan held on March 5 and March 6.

During the visit an intergovernmental meeting of national secretaries of Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) was held, where the sides discussed the development of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia international transport corridor and the increase in goods flow on Chornomorsk-Batumi-Poti ferry lines.

Dovhan said that transit via Armenia to Iran is extremely important for Ukraine, as it opens new markets for exports and imports, for example, bitumen for road construction.
