Ukraine and Bangladesh plan to strengthen the economic component of bilateral relations, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevhen Enin said following a meeting with Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to Ukraine (with residence in Warsaw) Muhammad Mahfuzur Rahman.
“The parties confirmed their readiness to strengthen the dynamics of the Ukrainian and Bangladeshi dialogue, in particular, the desire to hold the second round of political consultations and the introduction of the practice of consular consultations, as well as discussed a number of issues on the agenda of cooperation in trade and investment,” Enin said in the statement.
It is noted that given the high growth rates of bilateral trade and the opening of new promising areas of cooperation, the interlocutors expressed a common position regarding the advisability of mutual opening of permanent diplomatic institutions in the future.
Enin also proposed in the future to organize a visit to Ukraine by representatives of the business circles of Bangladesh to study the conditions for common investment projects.
In addition, the parties paid attention to the importance of enhancing cooperation in such sectors as agriculture, mechanical engineering, industrial cooperation and education.
