You're reading: Ukraine counteracts new coronavirus spread according to WHO recommendations

All anti-epidemiological measures in Ukraine in connection with a possible coronavirus infection COVID-2019 are carried out in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), Mykhailo Radutsky, the head of the parliamentary committee on national health, medical care and medical insurance (Servant of the People faction) said.

“To date, Ukraine has done everything necessary to be done in such a situation in any country in accordance with all the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO). Today there is an operational headquarters, headed by the Prime Minister of Ukraine. Activities of the operational headquarters are supervised by the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC),” Radutsky said in an exclusive express interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

According to him, at present all necessary quarantine measures are being taken to monitor healthy citizens of Ukraine, who were in the affected area and delivered to Ukraine.

“Regarding the preparation of the country, God forbid, the emergence of a virus, action plans have been developed that are fully consistent with the WHO recommendations. In addition, they are based on the experience of those countries that already have coronavirus. It is WHO that collects, analyzes and structures this experience,” the MP noted.

According to Radutsky, anti-epidemic measures are not new for Ukraine. Only this virus is new, because Ukraine had experience with SARS – atypical pneumonia, measles, and with cholera in Soviet times.

The head of the relevant committee also noted that in the case of appearing a person infected with coronavirus, an anti-epidemiological safety plan is foreseen.

“All measures will be carried out according to the plan of the center of the pest spot danger. That is, first of all, the hospital measures will be limited where this patient will be taken, of course, there will be a restriction of movement,” Radutsky said.
