Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has said that Ukraine counts on completing the demarcation of the state border with Moldova until the end of 2017.

Groysman in Odesa held a meeting with Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Filipp, during which the parties discussed the strengthening of cooperation in the economy and the development of cross-border cooperation, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reported.

The premier of Ukraine said that Kyiv is expected to complete the procedure for demarcation of the Ukrainian-Moldovan border by the end of the year.

According to the report, active work is underway to develop the border infrastructure. Joint control at the checkpoint Kuchurgan was introduced, and soon the bridge Bronnytsia-Ungur will be opened. The plans include the construction of a new bridge Yampol-Soroka over the Dniester river and the restoration of the railway junction on the Berezyne-Basarabeasca section.

Groysman suggested finalizing the mechanism for solving the issues between the countries at the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Moldovan Commission, which was agreed to be held at the end of September.

It is also reported that the trade turnover between the countries for the first half of 2017 grew by a third – up to $317 million.
