You're reading: Ukraine cuts gas consumption by 6.3 percent in 2017

Ukraine in 2017 reduced consumption of natural gas (excluding production and technological expenses of Ukrtransgaz, regional gas companies and extracting enterprises) by 6.3 percent compared to the same period last year, to 28.4 billion cubic meters, the press service of PJSC Ukrtransgaz has reported.

The company noted gas consumption in 2016 was 30.3 billion cubic meters, in 2015 some 31.4 billion cubic meters, and in 2014 some 39.7 billion cubic meters.

At the same time, Ukrtransgaz in 2017 increased natural gas use for its own needs to 2.2 billion cubic meters from 1.7 billion cubic meters in 2016 due to the growth of gas transportation volumes.
