Ukraine and Georgia have agreed to intensify the work within the framework of trade and economic cooperation, in particular, to develop the project of the international transport corridor the Baltic Sea – Black Sea – Caspian Sea, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze.
“We agreed to significantly intensify our work in the trade and economic area, not only about developing the opportunities for a free trade zone between Ukraine and Georgia, but also about deepening relations in specific sectors, in particular in the agrarian sector and fishing… We also agreed to continue cooperation on the development of the Baltic Sea – Black Sea – Caspian Sea international transport corridor… Our experts will continue this discussion in early June as part of the transport week in Odesa,” the deputy prime minister said at a joint press conference with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Energy of Georgia Kakha Kaladze in Kyiv on April 13.
Klympush-Tsintsadze also said that the parties discussed the widest range of issues, in particular, trade, transport, logistics cooperation, as well as cooperation in the agrarian sector, education and science, healthcare, sports and youth policy, and protection of intellectual property rights.
“The cooperation in the energy sector and the implementation of the Euro-Asian oil transportation corridor project are also an important element of cooperation between Ukraine and Georgia,” she said.
Klympush-Tsintsadze also recalled that this is the 9th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Georgian Commission on Economic Cooperation, following which the parties signed a protocol.
