Ukraine intends to join the NATO Energy Security Center of Excellence by the end of 2018, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze said during her visit to Lithuania while visiting this Center.

Director of the Center Gintaras Bagdonas assured in readiness for the expansion of cooperation between the NATO Center and Ukraine on various promising directions, in particular, in holding conferences, exercises in the context of defense aspects in the field of energy security, as well as the development and publication of joint analytical publications, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informed on April 19 evening.

In addition, according to Bagdonas, the Center is ready to host a Ukrainian expert to exchange experience in the field of energy security and participation in joint projects.

“I will be glad to welcome the Ukrainian flag near the NATO Center,” he said.

The parties also discussed the need for joint exercises aimed at developing the main elements of the sustainability system, taking into account the results of successfully conducted command and staff exercises to protect the critical electricity infrastructure that took place last year in Ukraine with the support of the NATO Center.
