You're reading: Ukraine lowers oil transit to Europe 12.9 percent in Jan-July

In January-July 2019, oil transit through Ukrainian pipelines to European countries decreased by 12.9 percent (by 979,000 tonnes) compared to the same period in 2018, to 6.633 million tonnes, according to the data of JSC Ukrtransnafta.

The volume of oil transportation to the country’s oil refineries in January-July 2019 amounted to 1.294 million tonnes, which is 7.7 percent (93,000 tonnes) more than in the same period in 2018.

Thus, in January-July 2019, the share of transit volume of the total transportation of oil (7.927 million tonnes) amounted to 83.7 percent, the share of pumping to the country’s refineries – 16.3 percent.

In July 2019, oil transit through Ukraine by pipelines decreased 16.9 percent (212,000 tonnes) compared to the same month of 2018, to 1.041 million tonnes, while pumping to the country’s refineries increased 8.2 percent (15,300 tonnes), up to 200,800 tonnes. In particular, in July 2019, Ukrtransnafta transported 27,400 tonnes of U.S. Bakken oil to refineries.
