Ukraine has recorded 489 enemy attacks since the start of the “back-to-school” ceasefire in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, Darka Olifer, the press secretary for Ukraine’s second president and Ukraine’s envoy to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) in Minsk Leonid Kuchma, has said.

“There is no continuous truce. During the ‘back-to-school’ ceasefire (August 29 through Sept. 17), the Ukrainian side recorded 489 attacks mounted by illegal armed formations in certain districts in Donetsk and Luhansk regions; in some cases, they used artillery systems and mortars banned by the Minsk agreements,” she wrote after a meeting in Minsk, Belarus, on Sept. 19.

A proposal was put forth at the TCG meeting that the security subgroup should prepare its proposals as for additional security measures in Donbas for the next round of the Minsk talks, she said.
