Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers approved on Aug. 23 an intergovernmental agreement with Kuwait on cooperation in the military and other spheres.
Ukraine and Kuwait signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in military and other spheres in Al Kuwait City, Kuwait in March 2018.
According to Interfax-Ukraine, the main directions of the cooperation include, among other things, the development of military-technical cooperation and cooperation in the fields of defense and logistics; scientific and technological cooperation and exchange of information on military and defense issues; and cooperation between the armed forces of states.
The agreement specifically discusses the possibility of purchasing weapons and military products within the framework of joint projects and joint production; supplies of military hardware and military products; maintenance, repair and modernization of weapons and military equipment; the sale of licenses for the production of weapons and military equipment and the provision of technical support for such production; joint research and development in the military-technical sphere and the exchange of their results.
Kuwait, along with Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar, is considered one of the most promising partners of Ukraine in the sphere of military-technical cooperation in the Middle East region.
