Ukraine has welcomed the proposal of the European Commission (EC) to launch the fourth program of macro-financial assistance in the amount of 1 billion euro and expects the legislative consolidation of the initiative, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has said.

The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported during a working visit to Brussels Groysman met with Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis.

“Ukraine welcomes the proposal of the European Commission to start the fourth program of macro-financial assistance in the amount of 1 billion euro and expects the legislative consolidation of the initiative,” Groysman said.

Dombrovskis, in turn, stressed EC representatives positively assess the measures taken by the Ukrainian side to consolidate state finances in the conditions of military operations in Donbas and the loss of production capacities in the east of Ukraine.
