You're reading: Ukraine will work with each of EU member states on air traffic liberalization

The Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine and the State Aviation Service on March 22 approved a plan for the liberalization of air link with the European Union.

According to the ministry’s website, to liberalize air traffic between Ukraine and EU member states before signing the agreement between Ukraine and the EU on the joint air space, the Ministry of Infrastructure has agreed a plan of work with the EU member states for 2017 on the issues of air service liberalization.

According to the plan, the State Aviation Service will apply to the aviation services of the EU member states with the proposal at the bilateral level to consider the issue of lifting the existing restrictions on conducting regular air transportation.

“The liberalization plan is a real step towards opening the air space with the EU countries, which confirms the coming of new airlines, the increase in air traffic and investments in the aviation industry of Ukraine,” the report said.

The State Aviation Service will apply to the aviation authorities of France, Ireland, Austria, Malta, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania, Portugal, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Sweden and the UK with different proposals as for liberalization.
