The Ministry for Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons backs the annulment of the free economic zone in Crimea and liberalization of goods transportation rules for individuals.

The ministry said that the concrete parameters for relaxation of goods transportation are to be drawn up.

In August 2014 Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada passed the law on the creation of a free trade zone Crimea and on the specifics of conducting economic activity in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. The free economic zone as introduced in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol. The special law regime for economic operations of individuals and companies, including the special procedure for applying the requirements of the regulatory, tax and customs laws of Ukraine and the special regime of internal and external migration of individuals, is in effect.

National taxes and duties are not collected on the territory of the free economic zone
