Investigators registered no violation of maritime law and of the Ukrainian laws by the crew of a Russian tanker detained on July 25, so there were no grounds to arrest the sailors, the press center for the Security Service of Ukraine told Interfax-Ukraine.

“The inquiries found that the crew aboard the tanker had not violated maritime law and the laws of Ukraine and so there were no grounds for their detention. In accordance with the Ukrainian laws and without violating the rights and freedoms of the Russian sailors, the latter were granted an unhindered possibility to return home, to their families,” the press center said.
