Ukrainian border guards have detained a German citizen, wanted for terrorist acts, as well as a Turkish citizen suspected of unintentional homicide.

As reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the previous day, in the airport of Kyiv, border guards detained a foreigner during passport control, who was wanted for the commission of terrorist actions. In relation to a German citizen, born in 1965, the Interpol database responded. In addition, the border guards found that German law enforcement agencies were looking for him on charges of terrorism. The foreigner arrived in Ukraine by the flight ‘Cologne – Kyiv.’

And on Monday, at the Boryspil checkpoint, border guards of a separate checkpoint ‘Kyiv’ detained a citizen of Turkey, born in 1973, who was traveling by the flight ‘Kyiv – Istanbul.’ However, he could not get on the flight, because the Interpol database responded to the foreigner – the man was wanted for an unintentional murder.

In both cases, the duty officer of the Interpol Ukrburo was informed in Kyiv. The detained foreigners were handed over to the National Police for further legal action.

The frontier guards said that since the beginning of this year the State Border Guard Service officers had detained 1,330 people by means of the Interpol database who were on the international wanted list.
