You're reading: Ukrainian border guards detain Russian woman wanted by Swiss law enforcers

At the railway checkpoint Konotop on the Ukrainian-Russian border, the border guards of the Sumy detachment detained a Russian citizen, whom Interpol was looking for at the request of Swiss law enforcement officers, the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported.

“So, today, when carrying out border control measures on the passengers of the Moscow-Kyiv train, the servicemen found a Russian citizen on whom the Interpol database reacted. According to the accounts of the Interpol General Secretariat, the Russian citizen was on the international wanted list for the purpose of arrest and subsequent extradition to Switzerland for criminal prosecution for fraud,” the message reads.

At present, a 43-year-old foreigner was handed over to law enforcement agencies, the frontier department said.
