You're reading: Ukrainian border guards receive two new tankers for Airbus helicopters

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine received two new refuelers for Airbus Н125 helicopters based on MAZ trucks worth Hr 8.6 million.

“In 2020, two hangars were equipped for Airbus Н125 helicopters in Kharkiv region, one hangar each in Sumy region and Kyiv. Preparatory work continues on the construction of a hangar in Chernihiv region,” the press service of the State Border Guard Service said on Jan. 14.

It is noted that the tankers were purchased in accordance with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On Public Procurement” under the negotiated procedure for defense needs.

“The purchased MAZ trucks have a 4×4 wheel arrangement and an engine power of 330 hp, of the Euro-5 ecological standard. Each of them is equipped with air conditioning and a 500-liter fuel tank. The tanker capacity of the refueler is 5,000 liters,” the department said.

The press service also recalled that as part of the implementation of the intergovernmental agreement with France and the implementation of the investment project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to create a unified system of aviation security and protection, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine expects to receive 24 new Airbus Helicopter Н125 helicopters.
