The Ukrainian military do not conduct active offensive actions in Donbas, but only transfer strongholds and observation points to protect servicemen’s lives, ministry’s spokesperson Andriy Lysenko said.

“The Ukrainian military do not conduct offensive actions, they do not cross the division line determined by the Minsk agreements. Ukraine closely observed the Minsk agreements,” Lysenko told a briefing in Kyiv on June 2, commenting on the information that the 93rd Ukrainian brigade had taken a position closer to the Bakhmut road.

The command of the brigades located near the division line from time to time makes decisions to transfer strongholds and observation posts to protect the troops and improve their combat positions due to enemy activity, Lysenko said.

“Because the enemy periodically adjusts fire well and in order to prevent our personnel from coming under artillery or mortar fire, decisions are made to transfer the positions of the Ukrainian military,” Lysenko said
