Regardless of the format of negotiations on settling the conflict in Donbas, Russia should comply with its obligations, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said.
“Even if a decision is taken about a formal expansion of the format, theoretically speaking about the joining of the United States or a combination of the Normandy and Budapest or Geneva formats, the matter is not about a format but about a clear political position and ability to make Russia comply with its obligations. On the other hand, certainly, the more key players are involved in this, the better, because this is a matter of a global deal for Russia. This is also a matter of global influence, the Middle East, the oil prices, and a lot of other things,” Klimkin said.
It’s important for Ukraine to achieve a positive result in the foreseeable future, because, the later it is attained, the more efficient Russia will be in destabilizing the situation in Ukraine, he said.
