Earlier, Radio Liberty reported that Leninsky district court of Minsk sentenced Ukrainian citizen Ruslan Tereschenko arrested for participating in March 25 demonstrations to 15 days of imprisonment.

According to the publication, on March 27, trials over detainees of March 25 and 26 rallies in Minsk and other Belarusian cities continue. All in all, according to the estimates of human rights defenders, more than one hundred people will be tried.

On March 25, the opposition in Belarus celebrated the Freedom Day, the 99th anniversary of foundation of the Belarusian People’s Republic.

The rally in Minsk was not permitted by the authorities and ended in mass detentions. There were over 350 people among those detained, but many of them were released on the same day, some of them even without any written records.

Another series of protest rallies, this time in solidarity with those detained on March 25, were held in a number of cities, including Minsk, on the next day. They also ended in detention of several dozens of people.
