The foreign ministers of Ukraine and Germany, Pavlo Klimkin and Heiko Maas, have discussed the deployment of a UN peacekeeping mission in Donbas in a phone call, the German Foreign Ministry said in a statement on August 15.

The ministry said on Twitter that German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas discussed the possibility of sending a UN peacekeeping mission in today’s phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart.

The ministry reiterated its commitment to the settlement of the Ukraine conflict.

It said it would pursue a lasting truce and progress in the political process.
