You're reading: Ukrainian, German foreign ministers discuss preparations for Normandy Format meeting

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko has met with his German counterpart Heiko Maas on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference to discuss the preparations for the next meeting in the Normandy Format.

The ministers focused on poor implementation of the agreements achieved during the Normandy Summit in Paris. Prystaiko said that the sides have managed to achieve real progress only in the exchange of prisoners, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine said.

Prystaiko and Maas noted that Russia never fulfilled its obligations related to ceasefire in Donbas, admission of the Red Cross to the occupied territories of Ukraine and ensuring round-the-clock monitoring of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission.

The ministers also discussed the preparations for the next high-level meeting in the Normandy Format, which was agreed on in Paris, reads the statement.

In addition, the sides discussed bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Germany.
