The investigation indicted Ukrainian journalist Roman Suschenko detained in Moscow of espionage, lawyer Mark Feygin told Interfax.

“The investigator familiarized us with the decision to indict Roman Suschenko of espionage,” Feygin said.

According to him, the Ukrainian refused to testify, as long as the position hasn’t been agreed because of the difficulties of lawyers’ access to the Lefortovo detention center.

Earlier Feygin said that Suschenko plead not guilty of espionage.

On October 3, Russia’s FSB opened a criminal case pursuant to Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (espionage) and started conducting an investigation.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the detainee was in Russia without journalist accreditation.

The Lefortovsky District Court of Moscow sanctioned Suschenko’s arrest for two month. The defense lawyer has already filed a complaint against his arrest.

Kyiv said that the detention was an act of provocation and the accusations of spying are groundless.
