President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman have congratulated Turkey on a state holiday – the Day of the Republic.
“Congratulations to our Turkish friends on the Day of the proclamation of the Turkish Republic! Peace, prosperity, development of your country and eternal memory to those who gave their lives for the independence of Turkey,” wrote Poroshenko on Twitter on October 29.
In his congratulatory message on Twitter Groysman said that Turkey is “one of the most important trade partners of Ukraine.”
Republic Day is celebrated in Turkey annually on October 29 in memory of the proclamation of the Turkish Republic in 1923.
