Militants have carried out more than 10 shellings in every one of the sectors (Luhansk, Donetsk, and Mariupol) of hostilities in Donbas over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman Andriy Lysenko has said.

“In the Luhansk sector, it was in the Popasna district only that the adversary fired on our soldiers. The enemy conducted fire night and day, but the most active shootings took place between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.,” Lysenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Sept. 30.

In total, 12 hostile shootings were recorded in the Luhansk sector in the past 24 hours.
Like in the previous 24 hours, the separatists opened fire in Novhorodske, Verkhniotoretske, and Avdiyivka, all in the Donetsk sector, Lysenko said. Most incidents occurred in the Avdiyivka industrial area, he said. In total, 11 shootings were recorded in the Donetsk sector, he added.

No principal changes were observed in the situation in the Mariupol sector, he said. Ukrainian positions were shelled in Maryinka, Starohnativka and at the Talakivka-Shyrokyne frontline sector, he said.

“Almost all incidents involving the use of arms occurred during the afternoon. In total, more than 10 shellings took place in the Mariupol sector,” Lysenko said.
