The State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) has resumed road work on the bridge over the Khadzhibey Estuary, for which the government allocated Hr 100 million in early 2020.

According to the press service of Ukravtodor on Telegram, in 2020 it is planned to repair the right passage of the bridge and open the movement of vehicles on it.

“The bridge through the Khadzhibey Estuary is part of the M-05 Kyiv-Odesa highway, which Ukravtodor plans to upgrade as part of its cooperation with the World Bank. Tenders are being held to develop technical documentation. As with all the key facilities of the Big Construction project, the possibility of using Weigh-in-Motion (WiM) systems on approaches to the bridge is being considered,” agency head Oleksandr Kubrakov said.

Ukravtodor notes that the bridge across the Khadzhibey Estuary is part of the international road M-05 Kyiv-Odesa, which unites the large industrial, administrative and cultural centers of Ukraine with the seaports and recreation areas on the Black Sea coast, as well as provides international transit transportation.
