The Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine has welcomed the start of work of the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine.

Protesters in front of Ukraine's parliament in Kyiv on Oct. 17, 2017 demand the creation of an anti-corruption court. A law on the court was passed in June but the crucial question is whether the institution will be independent and objective or will turn out to be a puppet court. The protesters also demanded stripping lawmakers of immunity from prosecution and a fairer election law.
