The Ukrtsukor National Association of Sugar Producers stated sugar beets producers had not received budget subsidies since early 2017.

According to a press release from the association, a survey was conducted among 50 sugar beets growers, according to which it turned out that 32% of producers have not received state subsidies since February 2017, while 50% of them did not apply for subsidies because they believe that the state, in any case, won’t compensate the entire amount claimed.

Some 12% of respondents have no information about budget subsidies and the procedure of their accrual, and 6% will not grow sugar beets this season.

As reported, the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food said Hr 241.8 million of budgetary subsidies were transferred to agricultural producers for their activities for March and Hr 79.8 million for February.

The Cabinet of Ministers foresaw Hr 4 billion of subsidies for the agroindustrial complex in 2017.
