You're reading: Ukrzaliznytsia’s plants still plan to build 3,000 gondola cars by late 2017

Plants, branches of public joint-stock company Ukrzaliznytsia, are increasing the pace of building gondola cars, in particular, Darnytsia wagon repair plant has enough funds and parts to build around 1,000 gondola cars by the end of 2017.

Head of the wagon department at Ukrzaliznytsia Oleh Motin told Interfax-Ukraine that in May, Darnytsia wagon repair plant intends to build up to 100 wagons. At present, four wagons a shift are built.

“It is realistic to build 3,000 gondola cars at own plants by the end of 2017, as the capacity of these enterprises is 4,500 wagons a year. Now production accelerated not only at Darnytsia wagon repair plant, but also at Paniutyne and Stryi plants,” he said.

Since early 2017, Darnytsia wagon repair plant signed 121 agreements to supply materials and parts for building wagons for the amount of almost Hr 500 million. 47 percent of the goods arrived in January-May.
