Access to pensions should be provided for all Ukrainians, including those living in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas, head of the UN Monitoring Mission for Human Rights Fiona Fraser has said.

Everyone who suffered from the conflict in Donbas, regardless of which side of the contact they live – they are all Ukrainians, those to whom the Ukrainian government must ensure a standard of living according to international standards … Access to pensions should be guaranteed for all who have the right to it, she said at the international conference titled “Retirement Payments to Internally Displaced Persons in Ukraine: How to Implement the Constitutional Right to Pension?” in Kyiv on Thursday.

The head of the UN Monitoring Mission stressed the need to ensure the payment of pensions to everyone, regardless of the registration of the place of residence.

We need to talk about pensions for all people, and those who suffer from the conflict, who live on both sides of the contact line to help them overcome difficulties, she said.
