You're reading: Underlying inflation in Ukraine slows down to 0.5 percent in November

Underlying inflation in Ukraine in November slowed down to 0.5 percent from 0.9 percent in October and 2 percent in September, the State Statistics Service has said.

According to its data, in annual terms (compared to the same month last year) underlying inflation in November was 6.2%, which is lower than in October (by 6.5 percent) and September (6.3 percent).

Since the beginning of 2016, underlying inflation in the country was 5.8 percent, whereas in the same period in 2015 the figure stood at 37.9 percent.

Underlying inflation does not include short-term irregular changes in prices influenced by various factors of an administrative, event-based or seasonal character. For instance, it does not include changes to prices of food and energy.

Underlying inflation in Ukraine in 2015 accelerated to 34.7 percent from 22.8 percent in 2014 and 0.1 percent in 2013.
