President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko expects Canada to take a principled position on the issue of sanctions pressure on Russia during Canada’s G7 Presidency next year, according to the presidential press service, referring to Poroshenko’s meeting with Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland in Canada.

The officials discussed possible ways to fully implement the mutually beneficial opportunities provided by the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement (CUFTA), as well as further deepening bilateral cooperation in the defense sphere, including supporting Ukraine in developing close partnership relations with NATO.
