After the ban imposed by the Russian court on the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, the persecution of Crimean Tatar has intensified further, speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mariana Betsa tweeted Thursday.

“After the ban of the Mejlis, the occupiers extend persecution of the Crimean Tatars. We condemn the illegal actions of the Russian Federation,” she wrote. “We will be proving in courts the illegality of the actions of the Russian Federation relating to the temporary occupation of Crimea and the violation of the rights of indigenous people of Crimea.”
