You're reading: UNIAN: SBU says Russia plots to push Ukraine toward snap parliamentary elections

The Russian Federation intends to provoke early parliamentary elections in Ukraine, to ensure return of pro-Russian forces to power and a shift in the country’s foreign policy, head of the SBU’s national statehood protection department Anatoliy Dublik told a Kyiv briefing on Nov. 11.

Speaking about Russia’s plans to destabilize the situation in Ukraine, he noted that the plan’s objective is internal destabilization, which implies “organization of early parliamentary elections in our country in order to bring pro-Russian forces to power, exclusively with a view to revise the European course and change the foreign policy vector of our state.”
