NATO will never recognize the illegal annexation of Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula by the Russian Federation, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in his opening remarks at the meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission in Kyiv July 10.
NATO has had a partnership with Ukraine for over 20 years. Ukraine is one of the biggest beneficiaries of NATO Trust Funds. The funds have paid for various projects including financial support for political and security sector reforms, help with cyber defence and medical rehabilitation for Ukrainian soldiers.
