The United States will provide $5 million to Ukraine as part of new assistance in the field of cyber security, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine reported.

“The United States is proud to provide over $5 million in cyber assistance to strengthen Ukraine’s ability to prevent, mitigate, and respond to cyberattacks,” the embassy said in a statement posted on its Facebook page.

The Embassy recalled the United States and Ukraine conducted the first bilateral cyber dialog in Kyiv on September 29. Recognizing the important nature of cyber threats, participants shared approaches on organizing cyber security policy structures and cyber incident response procedures.

They also discussed ways to protect critical infrastructure and military systems.
