A humanitarian cargo from the United States, which contains 60,000 vials of drugs against coronavirus, arrived in Ukraine, and after customs clearance, it will be distributed to all regions, the press service of the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States reports.

“With the assistance of the Embassy in Ukraine, humanitarian aid was delivered from the United States, provided by the American charitable organization Direct Relief. The latest agreements on the receipt of this humanitarian aid were agreed upon during the visit of the President of Ukraine to the United States,” the diplomatic agency said.

It is noted that the cargo contains innovative drugs Bamlanivimab and Etesevimab, used against COVID-19. Their total cost reaches $20 million. The drug is recommended for patients with mild to moderate severity of coronavirus disease, especially if there is a risk of becoming severe.

“The cargo in the form of 60,000 bottles of medicinal products will subsequently undergo customs clearance and transportation in 24 regions of Ukraine. We would like to express our special gratitude to the Yevhen Pyvovarov Charitable Fund, which will help in all procedures,” the embassy added.

The embassy added that the distribution of drugs is coordinated by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
