It is important to appoint a professional who will carry on with reform as the next governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv said.
“Now important to appoint an independent professional to carry forward the reform agenda @NBUkraine,” the U.S. embassy to Ukraine said on its Twitter page on April 10.
The U.S. diplomatic mission expressed gratitude to NBU governor Valeriya Gontareva who had submitted a resignation letter saying that she will leave her office on May 10. “Thank you @NBUkraine Governor Valeriya Gontareva. Your integrity, vision, and sheer force of will have transformed Ukraine’s banking sector,” the embassy said.
