On Oct. 19, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin will travel to Kyiv to reaffirm the U.S. unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

According to the press service of the U.S. Embassy, ​​being in Kyiv, Austin will visit the Defense Ministry of Ukraine, where he will express his respect in the Memorial Hall and the Memorial Bell of the Defenders of Ukraine, and will also meet with Defense Minister Andriy Taran to discuss Ukraine’s progress in implementing the defense and military-industrial complex reforms needed to advance its Euro-Atlantic aspirations, as well as security in the Black Sea.

After the meeting, Austin and Taran will make statements and answer a few questions.

The U.S. Secretary of Defense will then meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss bilateral and regional security cooperation.
