The State of Illinois (U.S.) has proclaimed 2018 – the year of the memory of the victims of the Holodomor-Genocide of 1932-1933 in Ukraine, the Ukrainian embassy to the United States has reported.

“Bruce Rauner, Governor of the State of Illinois, has issued a proclamation which announces 2018 the year to mark the 85thanniversary of Holodomor, a famine genocide of Soviet Ukraine from 1932 to 1933 carried out by the Soviet government,” the Ukrainian Embassy to the U.S. said on Facebook on June 14 night.
